The Shepherd Center, located in Kabale in Southwest Uganda, is a ministry that seeks to care for street children since Jesus Christ has called us to look after orphans. The Shepherd Center provides a safe and loving home for street boys to be nurtured, educated, counseled, and reconciled, if possible, back into their families.

As we take care of these boys' immediate physical needs, The Shepherd Center helps to transform these children emotionally, physically, and spiritually in order to ensure them a better future and to assist them in becoming good citizens profitable to themselves and their community.

The main objectives of The Shepherd Center are as follows:

  • Provide all basic physical, emotional, academic and spiritual needs
  • To restore hope and help them realize their importance in society
  • To impart good behavior and obedience
  • To enable street children to discover their talents and develop their gifts
  • To equip them with vocational skills and academic knowledge
  • To restore relationships between street children and their parents and/or family when possible
As of today, The Shepherd Center has over 50 boys enrolled in the program, cared for by both staff who are residents of the home and others who report to work daily. About half of the boys enrolled in TSC reside on campus full-time, while the other half of the boys have been resettled with their families. The boys who live at TSC receive the necessities of education, food, shelter, medical care, spiritual guidance, and more. Those who have returned to their homes still receive support from TSC for their education, clothes, food (as needed), medical care, etc. so that they can stay with their families who do not have the financial means to provide these things for them. Without this help, these boy would be back on the streets because the financial burden would be too much.


          

Get Involved:

 We are seeking for partnerships from individuals, families, churches, ministries, NGO’s, or other well-wishers to help support us and carry on with the work which God has assigned us. We have some opportunities to sponsor individual boys for $50/month or $100/month. Along with sponsorship comes the ability to pray for and develop a relationship with a boy at TSC. We also welcome monthly and one-time contributions towards the ongoing expenses and various projects that we have going on. The Shepherd Center is proud to say that 100% of giving goes directly to The Shepherd Center and changing lives on the ground in Uganda!
