Respira Bolivia is a group of volunteers in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. They are professionals from various backgrounds (doctors, engineers, architects, marketing) who are dedicating their time and expertise to innovate solutions and provide essential supplies and protective gear to front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, they have created prototypes for and manufactured:

  • Disinfection cabins
  • A T-shaped tube that allows a respirator to serve two patients instead of one
  • A ventilation machine that uses pressure and a timed cycle to help COVID patients before they become critical
  • Intubation boxes which protect the front-line medical workers
  • Mobile hospitals that can be constructed, deconstructed and moved quickly
  • Custom-made, 3-layer masks for front-line workers
